Carleton University: History and Theory of Architecture

February 2019

History and Theory of Architecture is offered as part of the Art History department. Areas of study include theory of design, architectural style and symbolism, heritage conservation, local narratives, indigenous art and architecture and more. 

Practicums and directed studies are optional as part of the program. I completed my practicum with the National Trust for Canada from January to March 2018, researching rural heritage in Canada.

Currently working on my directed research on the topic of ethnic enclaves and architecture, specifically focusing on Ottawa's Little Italy and Chinatown.
